Jojo's Journey

Image
On Friday, Jojo went back to New Frontier Animal Medical Center for her 2nd Acupuncture treatment.  She did very well! Still had a few little squeals, but Dr. Drake stood her back end up and she had some strength there! We were proud and hopeful once again. We felt as if there was already some  improvement! She is following instructions so well.  We are adding physical therapy to her daily schedule... some standing and tickling the feet! She had a long day! Acted like herself for most of the day, became aggravated when Hailey or someone would move too fast around her. And we were late getting her to her meds, but we all made it through another night.  Saturday, is starting to feel a little like the new normalcy in the Grinde home. We try to keep Jojo focused while we watch for her to pee and poop; this task can be difficult because she is always interested in the kittens and in return the kittens like to tempt her; or they are curious as to why she is not ch...

Jojo's Journey

August 23, 2018 (First Night and Day Two) Last night was a long night... I felt just like a mother watching over a sick baby. At 2 am I brought Jojo her bowl of water, but she still had not wanted to drink. I held up her bowl of food and she gobbled it down which made me feel a little better. So tonight, with Jojo in her crate next to the bed, things were 'amiss' for all of us. And I decided I ...

Jojo's Life

JoJo brought joy into our life from the first day we saw her. OK... she also brought us 'loss of sleep', but she was too adorable to let the lack of sleep bother us. Hailey and Jaida went with me to pick her up in Buckeye Arizona. She was just a little thing and we tried to protect her throughout the day. We named her Jojo after watching "the Bachelor" and knowing that JoJo Fletcher would be the following season's Bachelorette. This lovely miniature Dachshund was the first pet that Gene and I adopted together. We found her in Yuma Arizona and her face drew us in.  Once we brought her home, the grandchildren fell in love with her too, however the attention from the grandchildren frightened Jojo just a bit.  She continued to show us that this was her home. She slept with us every night and loved to chase the cat down the hall at night.  Life was good, Jojo enjoyed taking rides with us and joining us on some of our adventures. Jojo and Heidi (our 11 y...
