God Leads Me to See the Beauty in My Life

I was driving home tonight and GOD took me on a different path. I ended up driving through a new neighborhood within my community and thought how beautiful it was. The Rosemont Community Church and elementary schools looked inviting. The freshly painted homes and tailored yards, and untailored yards like mine (buried under mesquite beans), all show the caring families that live within my community. I smile as I watch a family swimming in their front yard pools. It warms my heart to see fathers working on trucks and watching the kids play in the streets. Seeing people in the many little parks is uplifting and reminder of how our wonderful our community is; when it’s not so HOT!  The monsoon rain yesterday cool monsoon evening tonight offers us all a little relief. I hope you have opportunities to take an occasional ‘stroll home’. Drives like this lift me up! Windows down and KLOVE on the radio with love, peace and joy is the right ‘prescription’ for my heart. It’s when I remember to trust in the Lord to look for all the beauty in my life.  The people who have touched my life; whether it was through a smile or through tears and whether it was brief moment or a lifetime, these are the moments that draw me closer to GOD and give me strength.

Psalm 23:2-4 (TNIV)

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
   he leads me beside quiet waters,
   he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
  for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
  through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
  for you are with me;
  your rod and your staff,
  they comfort me.
