JoJo's Journey

Earlier this week, I was quite certain that Jojo was just hanging on. She was peeing and pooping normally each day and she would sit in her kennel throughout most of the day and hang out with us on the couch in the evening and sleep in her basket on our on bed at night. Gene and I felt guilty last week because one day, while we were visiting mom next door, Jojo escaped her 'unlocked' kennel, made her way through the house, out the doggie door and all the way over to moms. We feared that this 'stunt' would set Jojo back and damaged what (if any) progression had been done.

BUT... Jojo then started progressing along a little bit further this week. She had two more acupuncture appointments with Dr. Drake at New Frontier Animal Medical Center. On Friday morning Gene had witnessed Jojo getting herself to the standing position with both of her back legs for just a fraction of a second... but this was progression and later that day at her 2nd acupuncture appointment this week, Dr. Drake could tell that Jojo was a becoming irritated and suggested that we bring her in only once a week from now on. You ca tell the Jojo is feeling better; she is always curious about the what the cats are doing, she acts and thinks she can jump off the couch, and there is a period of about an hour each evening where Jojo just wants to be 'out and about'.

Of course there is still work to be done, and we may still need to get her some wheels to keep up with her lifestyle. But GOD is showing us signs that no matter what happens Jojo will be OK.

Thank you for all of your prayers and positive thoughts. Your support is greatly appreciated!
